You Can't Get Enough of Archie and the Gang
Big news. I have finally decided to collect Archie comics OFFICIALLY. It means that yes, I've been buying Archie comics for as long as I can remember (I was, like, 6 or 7 then. Anyway, I'll tell you about it later), but last night, I thought about buying comic book boxes, plastic containers, etc. It was a mad, mad idea but the good thing is, we already have like HUNDREDS and HUNDREDS of comic books to start with so it's not gonna be a big problem or nuisance. Oh man, I can feel the excitement!
So anyway, I wanna tell you about the first time I bought an Archie. I was 6 or 7, right? And at that time, my mom had a store in Tutuban so I often hung out there when I was out of school. So one time, my mom and I went up to the top floor, where the movie theatre was. And there was a little store there, full of knick knacks. We went there to look at stuff. While my mom was talking to the store owner, something caught my eye. It was -surprise, surprise!- an Archie comic. And Betty and Archie were on the cover. It wasn't a double digest. Just a thin comic book. But it really attracted me. I didn't have the guts to tell mom that I wanted to buy it, so we just went back to mom's store. We moved on to do some other stuff, but the only thing on my mind was that comic book, so finally, I told my mom about it, so she gave me money (a hundred pesos, i think) and asked my Tita Velia to accompany me to the store. I bought the comic and I remember feeling so happy and relieved to finally reading it and finding out what it was all about.
Archie and the Gang represent the promising youth. They relate to us and we relate to them. We all know what they're doing because we go through the same stuff, too. I realized that I was a little young when I first read it, but it somehow gave me some perspective about life, my peers, youth, teenhood, etc. It lead me to believe that anything is possible in this world, and even though the series aims to make the reader laugh, it changed my whole view of things. It also made me want to read other kinds of stuff. I graduated from fairy tales and went on to much more mature reading materials. It was refreshing. It still is. Now, I regret about how I once vandalized those comic books. Some of them have missing covers due to age, but I'm glad the content is still untarnished and readable. The Archie comic series is a work of genius. I don't think there's nothing else in the world quite like it. Yes, there are far more humorous comics out there, but they don't have the charm, the pizzazz, the storylines, the teen troubles, love triangles, disgruntled teachers and professors, and I mean, who doesn't wanna go hang out at Pop Tate's? Even in a fictional world? I hope you get what I mean.
Archie comics are an important part of my childhood and adolescence. And now, I wanna pay tribute to them.

Back to Basics
Like the layout? Yeah? Good. No? Oh well.
I'm currently into classic movies so I chose this really clean, really simple minimalist kind of layout.
For the first time, I chose something that's totally out of my comfort zone. I'm more into punk rock stuff, you know. Skulls, crossbones, black/pink stuff (Remember my old layout?). But this time, I wanted to take a chance on something neat so I did. And this is what I found on Blogskins. It's quite simple, but it has a striking personality. I love it.

College Stuff
So, apparently, this post is all about college stuff. Not something worth giggling about, but still pretty revelant in my life. Well, of course it's relevant. Anyway, I'm gonna attend this review center on May 2 and my reviewing will continue on until May 29. My mom wants me to pass the University of the Philippines (UP; Manila? Diliman? Whatever) and of course, the University of Santo Tomas (UST). They are both so important that I had to write them in their complete complete complete spelling. Including the paranthesized abbreviations. Wait, is "paranthesized" a verb? So anyway, for the first time, I actually agree with my mom, since hey, who wouldn't wanna go to those big universities, right? Right? I actually do. So if you're thinking, "What about Ateneo or De La Salle?" Well all I gotta say is "Ateneo what?" Because it's super expensive and it's too far away from home sweet home. I wasn't even thinking of going there in the first place so "Goodbye Ateneo! Goodbye the color blue!" What about De La Salle? Hmm.. I dunno. I haven't thought about it. All I'm thinking of is UP! UST!
So next up is my course. I have lots of choices:
1. Psychology
2. Literature
3. Behavioral Sciences
They're not in specific order, by the way. Number 1 and Number 3 are sorta kinda similar. Number 2 is "easy for me", as the others say. They're all interesting and I wanna take them all, but I gotta choose. Right now, I'm kinda more into Number 2, but I dunno if it'll change in the future, so I still have to keep Numbers 1 and 3 in mind.
Gawd. I'm not yet a senior (incoming, btw), but I'm sooooo FREAKIN' OUT right now!!!
What do I do?! What do I do?! HELP!!!!!!!!

true-blue gilmore girl
so. i started the gilmore girls season 1-6 dvd marathon this afternoon.
it was just right. the witty banter, the intelligent comebacks, the not-so-kilig-but-still-fairly-kilig moments, and the always pleasing smile-worthy scenes are just right.
well, okay, the word "right" doesn't cut it, but nevertheless, it was really good. i loved the dialogue and the timing. it was impeccable. flawless, even. oh wait, they mean the same thing. perfect.
(oh my gogo dancer. that was, probably, the worst review one could possibly come up with. i'm just not good at explaining stuff, you know. all the nicer things i could've said are all trapped in my head, waiting to see sunshine and not gray matter. i'm just not good at this "reviewing" crap. ugh. i feel so disgusted with myself. i think i'm gonna barf. wait, maybe i'm pregnant. or not. kidding. about the "i'm pregnant" part, of course. god, i'm such a dweeb. so shoot me.)

Braces
I now have braces. Yes, those metal thingies stuck on your teeth.
So far, it doesn't hurt because kinabit lang yung metal pero after 2 or 3 weeks, I'm going back to the dentist para ma-straighten na yung teeth. That's the "ouch" part, I think. I honestly don't know what's gonna happen with my eating because right now, I'm having a hard time chewing stuff (of course, I only had soup for dinner awhile ago). It's like my teeth and jaws are compressed or something. I can only swallow the food, not chew it. God knows what's gonna happen if I choke.
That's the update for today. Just wanna share that with you.
P.S.
Watch Ugly Betty ya'll!!! Daniel Meade (played by Eric Mabius) is delicious. LOL.
