Sigh. You guys know I'm a colossal fangirl of Fall Out Boy, so I went to Tutuban just to get ahold of their latest album, Infinity on High, even though I got this massive toothache. Anyway, the CD's on my "Material Girl" wishlist, as you may know. (Look below, people)
So I went to the music store (Odyssey), and I couldn't find it anywhere. I almost gave up when I found it at the wall rack! Oh Stupid Me! Anyway, at the cover of the CD, it said "Special Philippine Edition". And I was like, "What the fuck?! What do you mean by Phil. Edition!? Is this some kind of marketing trick?!" And I was so desperate to hear the songs in it so I bought it anyway for P325. The usual price for a foreign album in the Phils. is P470, so I thought, "Why not?"
I got back home, opened the case, and guess what they mean by Phil. Edition!? There was NO album booklet!!!!!!!!!!!! You know, the little booklets with all the lyrics, pictures and stuff about the band?! THERE WAS NONE!!! JEEEEEEEEEEEZ. What a complete waste of money. I should've just downloaded the whole album from the PC, but I really support the band so SILLY ME fell for their TRAP!
Trying to look for a bright side, I thought, "Well, the music is all that matters, right? Let's just give it a shot." So I popped the disc in the CD player. First of all, the band kinda changed their music. It was completely different except for a few songs. I didn't quite like the vibe of a few of the songs, so I skipped them. The best songs on the album are "Hum Hallelujah" and "I'm Like a Lawyer ...(Me+You)". Compared to this, "From Under the Cork Tree" is 9999999999999999999999 times much BETTER!!!
"Infinity" was such a letdown. Disappointment is an understatement. Yes, I'm serious. Sigh. And I thought it was going to be all Emo Punk and Roll... NOT!
So if you guys are even thinking of buying the CD (esp. here in the Phils. w/ the Special Phil. Edition), FORGET IT! It's not worth it. This is coming from a HUGE FAN, mind you.
